Dyslexia Therapy Utah was founded in 2021.
Our goal is three fold:
Provide parents with resources for their child struggling with reading, spelling, writing, and/or comprehension.
Provide teachers with resources to better serve their students with dyslexia.
Provide training resources for Orton-Gillingham, Academic Language Therapy programs.

Our Story...
Kathy Tenney is the founder of Dyslexia Therapy Utah. She is a Certified Academic Language Therapist (CALT), qualified instructor in-training (QI-completion in 2022), and a Texas licensed early childhood education teacher, with a masters degree in education. She has experience with severe cases of dyslexia, including clients diagnosed with additional challenges of ADHD and autism spectrum disorders (ASD). She’s been helping children with dyslexia for over 25 years. She continues her education annually, attending conferences, presenting at conferences, and training new therapists with the most current, research-based skills and information. She teaches children in- person and online. She was teaching online before the pandemic, reaching students across the states. She currently has students in a different continent.
She knows that combating dyslexia is serious business. There is no time to waste. She does not have a waiting list. Waiting should NEVER be an option. Children do NOT grow out of dyslexia. Appropriate early intervention is crucial. If Dyslexia Therapy Utah cannot find space to serve your child, Kathy will connect you with other well-trained, trusted professionals to help.
When Kathy’s not teaching children, you may find her video chatting with her kids and grandkids, shopping for deals at NPS, or walking and biking in the Avenues with her husband. She is a kid at heart. She loves to make life fun for all the kids in her life.
