"You will never meet anyone as kind, generous or empathic as Kathy. She is a miracle worker with my baby (7 yr old). When K wakes up in tears and doesn't want to read, Kathy knows exactly what to say to engage her. Then afterward, when I ask K how it was, she goes skipping down the hall singing, "It was ggrreeeeaaatttt!!""
"Kathy's experience and expertise gives her the ability to pinpoint gaps in a child's abilities, and then knows without question what to do to fill those gaps."
"Kathy is a wonder. We were hesitant to start dyslexia therapy but would easily do it 1,000,000 times over. Her positivity, patience, and persistence has helped us all - but especially my daughter, who used to melt down at the drop of that hat when reading. Her confidence now soars every time she opens a book."
"We are so lucky to have found Kathy. We are incredibly grateful for the progress our daughter has made. Kathy is patient, thoughtful, and executes her lessons effortlessly. She encourages our daughter every step of the way and is genuinely caring. Our daughter has become a confident reader who is now eager to engage in learning."

She is a parent of a dyslexic child, which is how she got started in this work over 30 years ago. She has experience with severe cases of dyslexia, including clients diagnosed with additional challenges of ADHD and autism spectrum disorders (ASD). She continues her education annually, attending conferences, presenting at conferences, and training new therapists with the most current, research-based skills and information. She teaches children at her home office and online. She is an approved provider for Children First Utah Scholarship Program, and the Utah Fits All Scholarship Program.
She knows that combating dyslexia is serious business. There is no time to waste. She does not have a waiting list. Waiting should NEVER be an option. Children do NOT grow out of dyslexia. Appropriate early intervention is crucial. If Dyslexia Therapy Utah cannot find space to serve your child, Kathy will connect you with other well-trained, trusted professionals to help.
When Kathy’s not teaching children, you may find her video chatting with her kids and grandkids, walking and biking in the Salt Lake City Avenues with her husband, or building Duplo Lego creations in her play loft. She is a kid at heart. She loves to make life fun for all the kids in her life.
